An indigo leaf pattern arranged in a cross-like formation. Known as Árbol Azul, this Talavera tile is hand-painted — simple, symmetrical, and quietly striking.
The tile came from a local estate sale — one of a small collection I acquired and have been framing one by one. When this one is gone, it's gone.
Framed in tin by hand at my studio in Santa Fe. The tinwork is cut and finished by hand, bringing a contemporary edge to a historic craft.
