A golden rosette at the center, surrounded by deep navy arcs and flourishes. This Talavera tile is hand-painted and bold in color — the circular patterning draws the eye in.
The tile came from a local estate sale — one of a small collection I acquired and have been framing one by one. When this one is gone, it's gone.
Framed in tin by hand at my studio in Santa Fe. The tinwork is cut and finished by hand, bringing a contemporary edge to a historic craft.
