A radiant sun with a gentle smile, framed by a dotted border that recalls traditional folk patterns. Known as Sol Punteado, this Talavera tile is hand-painted and warm in character.
The tile came from a local estate sale — one of a small collection I acquired and have been framing one by one. When this one is gone, it's gone.
Framed in tin by hand at my studio in Santa Fe. The tinwork is cut and finished by hand, bringing a contemporary edge to a historic craft.
