A postal is a postcard. This nicho is made to hold one.
I first came across these cards at Op Cit, a bookstore here in Santa Fe. I started collecting them and had a vision of them living inside a tinwork piece. It took two years for that to come together.
The top is punched with a cloud crest motif. The shallow box holds a single vintage Mexican saint card behind glass. Natural tin finish.
Each nicho comes with one hand-tinted Mexican devotional postcard, produced in the 1930s to 1950s. Each card is hand-colored, so no two are exactly alike.
