A corona is a crown. In New Mexican tinwork tradition, the wreath form takes this name. This one is built from 23 hand-punched rosettes, assembled into a full wreath and finished with a dupioni-style ribbon.
The design came out of a December 2025 gathering at the Nuevo Mexicano Heritage Arts Museum in Santa Fe, where I have been volunteering for the last few years. I was asked to bring something for the front door. I took rosettes from earlier work and assembled them into this form for the first time. It was meant for one evening. I ended up keeping it.
Each rosette is punched individually. It is one of the most involved pieces in the studio to make.
It hangs on a door, a wall, or above a mantle. The ribbon comes in three colors, Moss, Bordeaux, and Gold, chosen to work in a home year-round, not just a season. It can also be swapped out.

CareWipe clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid prolonged moisture. The ribbon can be spot cleaned or replaced if needed.
The tin will develop a natural patina over time. Natural variations in the metal are part of the character of handmade work.
